Admissions | Respite Care
Although we do not have dedicated respite beds, if we have a vacancy we will take someone for short-term respite care. Charges will be calculated on a daily basis, based on care needs, and an appropriate contract will be issued.
In an emergency, if we have a bed available, we will take an admission without our full pre-admission assessment being done. The Nurse in charge will expect brief but precise details of the person's needs, and will decide if we can meet them. This admission will be for no longer than 60 hours initially, after which the referring agent is responsible for reassessment.
If, once admitted, we find that we are not able to meet this person's needs, we retain the right to discharge at any point during this period, having informed the referring agent of our intention to do so.
“My family and I would like to express our sincere thanks to you all for the care you showed to my Father. We know Dad could be quite challenging, but with all your help and patience, he soon settled into his daily routine at The Shrubbery.”
